Stoneware Pottery For Everyday Living

My Story.

At the age of twelve I knew I wanted to throw pottery. I remember the first time I saw someone throwing on a pottery wheel and I was mesmerized by the action and creativity. The next thirty years were spent acquiring a college degree, marriage to a career military man, the birth of my four sons, and unfortunately the loss of my creative dreams. In 2000 I woke very unhappy with my life decisions. I felt it was time for me to teach my sons to follow their dreams and to not settle for what others think is“perfect”.

I left my marriage , entered into Corporate America, scared of what this housewife could offer the working world. Within the first two years , I was the third top saleswoman in my company. Over the next 18 years, I worked for two top notch corporate companies, I climbed and achieved goals that some thought were impossible. Through all this success I always felt on the inside unfulfilled, lacking in performance, and empty.

In 2015 while on a sales call in Charlottesville VA, I saw a new clay studio which had just opened, City Clay. Standing on the street looking at that studio life began again at that moment! I poured my heart and soul into soaking up as much information and as many classes as I could. I bought my own wheel and kiln and jumped in fearlessly. Thank you Randy Bill for your guidance and love of clay.

In 2019 I suffered a severe head injury which led me to resign from my corporate job. Sometimes our biggest blessings come out of tragic moments. I am now a full time potter, supporting myself through sales from this website and local stores in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each piece of work purchased helps me live my dream and master my craft. Each piece of Muddigs Pottery is thrown with loving intentions of peace and prosperity and following your dreams.
